OK, this is my first video podcast, so it may not be up to the Scott Weingart or Mel Herbert standard, but we'll fire ahead regardless.
A little over a week ago I attended the FIA Institute Medicine in Motor Sport summit in Istanbul, where I had been asked to give a presentation on the assessment of concussion at motor sport events and the tricky issue of clearing competitors to return to play. It came out of work I'd been involved with through the CAMS National Medical Advisory Council, which is still ongoing.
Rather than let it end at the summit, I figure I should post it up on the Rollcage Medic site so anyone who couldn't attend can still watch it. Please feel free to leave any comments below and check out the show notes under the video for all the references.
After the chief medical officers seminar I met Dr Patrick Schamash, the Medical Director of the International Olympic Committee and a thoroughly nice guy, who informed me that the 4th International Consensus Conference on Sports Concussion had just been held in November and work has begun on drafting the SCAT3 sideline test.
